95 mayat ditemui dalam runtuhan Gaza sejak gencatan senjata

BANDARAYA GAZA: Pasukan perubatan Palestin sehingga kini mengeluarkan 95 mayat dari runtuhan bangunan di Gaza selepas Israel mengumumkan gencatan senjata.

Kebanyakan mayat ditemui di bandar Jabaliya dan Beit Lahiya di utara Gaza serta kawasan Zeitun di barat daya Bandaraya Gaza, kata Ketua Perkhidmatan Kecemasan Gaza, Dr Muawiya Hassanein.

Ketiga-tiga lokasi itu adalah antara medan pertempuran paling sengit di antara askar Israel dan pejuang Palestin.

Penemuan itu menjadikan angka korban rakyat Palestin menjangkau 1,300 orang sejak Israel melancarkan serangan ganas pada 27 Disember lalu.

Sementara itu, di VATICAN CITY, Pope Benedict mengutuk keganasan di Gaza yang membunuh ratusan "mangsa tidak bersalah".

Berucap pada majlis doa mingguan hari ini, beliau meminta pendengar di St Peter's Square dan seluruh dunia berdoa untuk kejayaan usaha "menghentikan tragedi" itu dan mencapai keamanan yang berkekalan.
